JAIME ORLANDO CORONADO

Orlando has been playing soccer for over 40 years.

He was born in Colombia and played in the youth academy for Club Deportivo Los Millonarios from 1982-1984,where he used the number 4 jersey playing as a central back/ Sweeper, before moving to the United States,

Played Soccer at the high school level, he graduated from Bayside High School in 1990, where he played for 2 years, he also played from 1985-1986 in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League, Division 1 from 1985-1986,

1986-1988 played in the Pan-American Soccer league in Flushing Meadows, NY, Played for Deportes Quindío NY from 1990-1992 in Hempstead NY and in Colombia 93 from 1993-1996 at Flushing Meadow Park NY. Where he helped those teams win many cup titles.

In 2009 Orlando began his coaching career, when his youngest son joined the Auburndale Soccer Club Travel Team (Barcelona), where Orlando began coaching his team from 2009-2015 from the U9 division thru U11 Division, in the LIJSL and also in the NY Cup, under his coaching career he took the team to play division 1 and won many titles and local tournaments for the club.

In 2014 was part of the Olympic Development Program (ODP) as a Scouting Coaching Staff.

2015-2016 coached in Franklin Square Soccer Club a U10 boys team Galaxy in the LIJSL, where he won the division for both years under the team.

2016-2017 coached under Galaxy Soccer Development, where he coached a U12 boys’ team in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League where his team place second in their division.

2017-2018 was the assistant coach for the Franklyn Square Soccer Club U17 boys team Santos, where they won their Premier Division.

"Orlando’s coaching philosophy is to teach youth players to understand and love all aspects of the game. Orlando accomplishes this by setting goals for players to achieve, to build a good working environment and culture, to insert hardworking values, to motivate all players to be the best they can be and to communicate and confront players with their needs and respect others".

 

Orlando Coronado holds an Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association E License. He has been with Hempstead EOC since 2019, he is currently the trainer/coach of the boys 2011 and 2008 teams
